Beginning Ukulele     Patricia Bolen & George Yount & Terri Alexander
Sunday School Room

This class is for beginners, those who have never played a ukulele or for those who want a basic brush-up.  We will take you through how to hold the ukulele, how to strum, and how to play some easy chords.  At the end of the session, you will be able to play several fun songs.

Intermediate Ukulele     Mike Johnson       Sanctuary
A Potpourri Of Ukulele Fun
This class is tailored for the advanced beginner/intermediate player.

Just a spoonful of music theory to get us started and then we’ll learn two tunes that will stretch our playing skills. Sprinkle in some strumming dynamics like muting, hammering and slidingalong with some vocal scatting and the new tunes will sound even better. Handouts and song sheets will be provided. SCT and Baritone uke players are all welcome. You should be comfortable playing chord progressions in several keys, but most importantly, be willing to have fun and maybe learn some new stuff.

Advanced Ukulele       Bruce Cowan         Social Hall
Playing the Great Half-Remembered Songs

Working on songs from the twentieth century is a fun way to learn musical concepts and ukulele skills. The class will cover two or three tunes from swing, rock, pop, Broadway, folk, and blues. Sheet music is provided with standard notation, tablature, and chord forms for both ukulele and baritone ukulele. The class is meant for intermediate and advanced players who can confidently change chords in the common keys (C, G, F, D, A) and who might be ready to try playing melodies and new chord forms.
